About SafeSlope

My name is Kameron Smith. I help small and mid-sized ski areas plan and operate safe, practical mountain operations based on real-world experience. My work focuses on patrol operations, risk management, and operational transitions, combining on-hill experience with disciplined project execution.

I bring over five years of experience as a construction project manager, as well as more than five years as a ski patroller. My patrol background includes long-term volunteer service at a nonprofit ski area, year-round work as a professional ski and bike patroller at a larger resort, in addition to leadership roles in training and operations. I also have experience serving on a nonprofit board, giving me firsthand insight into the governance, financial, and political realities many community ski areas face.

I approach every engagement with a pragmatic, operations-first mindset, driven by direct experience working on-mountain and delivering complex projects under real-world constraints. I focus on helping ski area leadership reduce risk, improve operational efficiency, and implement changes that are sustainable for their staff, budget, and community.

This includes supporting resorts as they plan, launch, and refine summer operations, particularly bike parks, so new programs are integrated thoughtfully into existing patrol, staffing, and risk management programs.
